"A Perspective on Trends in Visual and Environment Simulation"

Despite the economic uncertainty of the past 12 months, significant changes continue to transform our industry in visualization and database technologies. This transformation includes consolidation of subsystem providers, new projection and graphics technologies, and increasing availability of high-density geographical datasets. These events combine with secular trends in communication and connectivity as well as changes in traditional warfare, weapons and surveillance that have had a significant impact on how we fight and how we train.

Together we will take a look at these technologies and events; and ultimately how they impact our businesses and products. It is these innovations that advance our collective goal to achieve truly immersive and connected smart environments.

The IMAGE 2009 conference promises to be another unique and exciting event, with a long list of technical papers and tutorials that capture perspectives and insights and where we can once again exchange at both the technical and personal level.
